Status bar
The status bar appears at the top of the screen when a job is open. It provides information about the equipment that is connected to the controller and access to commonly used functions.

Items that usually appear on the status bar are:
Item | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Menu button |
Tap to view the menu. |
|
Application icon |
Shows the current Origin app. If you have only one app installed, the status bar always shows the General Survey icon. If you have the Origin Roads app installed, then to swap between apps, tap the icon and then select the app to switch to. In portrait mode, the app icon does not appear on the status bar. To change to a different tap, tap and select the name of the current app (for example, General Survey) and then in the Choose application screen, tap the name of the app to switch to. |
|
Date and time |
Shows the current date and time. |
|
Status line |
The status line displays a message when an event or action occurs. Tap the status line to switch from one instrument to another during an integrated survey. The status line appears at the far right of the status bar. In portrait mode it appears below the status bar. |
The Battery status area on the status bar shows the status of the battery in the controller and devices connected to the controller. If the controller has more than one battery, the power level of each battery is shown.
To view the Battery status screen, tap the battery status area of the status bar.
During a conventional survey, values for the current horizontal angle or vertical angle and distance are shown in the status line.
To view the:
- Instrument functions screen, tap the Instrument icon in the status bar.
- Instrument settings screen, tap and hold the Instrument icon in the status bar.
The Instrument icon indicates the type of connected instrument. Symbols are added to the Instrument icon to indicate status.

The software is connected to a Spectra Geospatial FOCUS 30 or 35 total station. | |
The instrument is locked onto the target (prism). | |
The instrument is locked and measuring to the target (prism). | |
The instrument is in Fast Standard (FSTD) mode. It averages the angles while a fast standard measurement is taken. | |
The instrument is in Standard (STD) mode. It averages the angles while a standard distance measurement is taken. | |
The instrument is in Tracking (TRK) mode. It constantly measures distances and updates in the status line. | |
The instrument is locked to the target (prism) and receiving an EDM signal back from the prism. | |
The laser pointer is on (DR mode only). | |
The high power laser pointer is on. | |
Radio signals from the robotic instrument are no longer being received. | |
The compensator is disabled. | |
Auto‑connect is disabled. Tap the icon once to restart auto‑connect. Tap the icon again to configure Auto‑connect settings. |
To change the target or target settings, tap the Target status icon in the status bar. See Target height.

The prism is locked. "1" indicates that target 1 is in use. The prism constant (in millimeters) and target height are shown to the right of the icon. When measuring a point with a dual-prism offset, two prism constants are shown. |
|
The instrument is in Direct Reflex mode. | |
The rotating target icon with a pulsing red halo indicates that the instrument has Autolock enabled but is not currently locked onto a target. | |
GPS Search is enabled. |
During a GNSS survey, precision information for the current position is shown in the status line.
The number below the satellite icon indicates the number of satellites in the solution if you have started a survey, or the number of satellites being tracked if you have not yet started a survey. To view the Satellites screen, tap .
If [A] or [B] appears next to the number of satellites in an RTK survey, then an independent subset of satellites is being used. See To use independent subsets of satellites tracked in RTK surveys.
To view the:
- GNSS functions screen, tap the GNSS receiver icon in the status bar.
- Receiver settings screen, tap and hold the GNSS receiver icon in the status bar.
The GNSS receiver icon indicates the type of connected GNSS receiver:
Icon | Indicates |
---|---|
Spectra Geospatial SP100 receiver, where IMU tilt compensation is enabled and the IMU is aligned. Measurements are corrected for receiver tilt. Precision values for the current pole tip position are displayed. | |
Spectra Geospatial SP100 receiver, where IMU tilt compensation is enabled but the IMU is not aligned. Measurements are not corrected for receiver tilt. No precision values are displayed. | |
Spectra Geospatial SP100 receiver, where IMU tilt compensation is not enabled. The receiver is operating in GNSS-only mode. Precision values for the APC are displayed. | |
Spectra Geospatial SP90m receiver | |
Spectra Geospatial SP85 receiver | |
Spectra Geospatial SP80 receiver | |
Spectra Geospatial SP60 receiver | |
Spectra Geospatial SP30 handheld GNSS receiver | |
Auto‑connect is disabled. Tap the icon once to restart auto‑connect. Tap the icon again to configure Auto‑connect settings. |
To view more detailed status information, tap the real-time correction information area of the status bar.
