GNSS stake methods
In a GNSS survey, configure the stake method to control how stake out navigation information appears. The default method is To the point, where directions to the point are given from your current position.
To change the GNSS stake method:
- Make sure you have entered an antenna height.
- Tap and select Stakeout / Points.
- If the Stake out point form appears beside the map showing a list, tap Point to change to staking a single point.
- Tap Options.
- In the Stake field, select the method. Select from:
- To the point – stake out the point with directions from your current position. This is the default method.
- From fixed point – stake out the point with cross‑track information and directions from another point. Enter a point name in the From point field. Select from a list, key in, or measure this value.
- From start position – stake out the point with cross‑track information and directions from the current position when you start to navigate.
- From last point staked – stake out the point with cross‑track information and directions from the last point that was staked out and measured. The staked point is used, not the design point.
Relative to azimuth – stake out the point with the cross‑track information and directions relative to the Reference azimuth.
The Reference azimuth field shows the value entered in the Reference azimuth field of the Cogo settings screen of the job properties (see Cogo settings). Editing the Reference azimuth field in the Stakeout Options screen updates the Reference azimuth field in the Cogo settings screen and the Map settings screen.
- The cross‑track function creates a line between the point to be staked out and one of the following: a fixed point, the start position, the last point staked, or a reference azimuth. The Origin software displays this line, and an extra field (Go left or Go right) gives the offset to the line.
- When the Deltas field is set to Station and offset the Go left or Go right field shows the same information as the H.Offset field.
- When the Deltas is set to Station and offset and the Stake method is set to Relative to azimuth, the Go left or Go right field is replaced by the delta Elev (to last) staked point field.
