Filtering data by measurement type
Use the Filter tab in the Layer manager screen to filter the points, lines, arcs, and polylines in the job by data type.
Select or clear the check boxes to make only the data you are interested in visible and selectable in the map. For example, you can filter by point types such as topo points, observed control points, or as-staked points. You can also filter lines, arcs, polylines, CAD linework, and points in linked files.
-
To open the Layer manager, do one of the following:
- Tap in the Map toolbar.
- In the Job properties screen, tap the Layer manager button.
-
Select the Filter tab.
-
To automatically update the data shown in the Map as you make changes in the Layer manager, tap the Auto update softkey. A check mark on the Auto update softkey indicates Auto update is enabled.
Changes made when Auto update is enabled are retained when you exit the Layer manager using either the Accept or Esc key.
-
Tap the point type or feature type to hide it. The check mark inside a square next to the file name disappears.
-
Tap the point type or feature type again to show it. The check mark inside a square next to the file name appears, indicating those points or features are visible and selectable ("active") in the map.
-
To reset the data filters, use the softkeys below the map. Tap None to hide all point and feature types. Tap All to make all point and feature types visible.
-
Tap to apply a finer filter. You can filter data by Point name, Code, Descriptions (if enabled) and Note. For more information, see To filter data using wildcard search.
-
Tap Accept.
